Gulf Of Mexico Aerial Imagery

The U.S. Geological Survey acquired true color digital video imagery during the summer
and fall of 2008 along the northern coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The images were
acquired at an oblique angle by a Cessna 185 amphibious airplane at an altitude of
500 to 2000 feet, and are provided via a Google Map interface. Each image is a still
capture taken from video obtained using two Sony HVR-A1U HDV camcorders. One image still
was extracted every 2 seconds from the video.
